The 302 Boss was a Windsor block, the 351 Boss wasn't. I'm almost certain the 351 Boss crank was iron, but was tested for higher nodularity or something to that effect.

Yes the Boss had the same size journals as all the Clevelands. The cranks were cast, not forged but they were Brinell tested to make sure they had a certain hardness. They were all nodular cast iron.

The Boss connecting rods had high strentgh bolts and were Magnafluxed. The pop-up pistons were forged instead of cast. The blocks had 4 bolt mains and siamesed bores.

the boss 351c motors, if I remember correctly and where to dig up an old mustnag monthly, pistons and cam, not even any head work would pull you almost to 450 horses. for anyone that HAS NOT driven a boss 351. hooaaa sit down shut up and hold on., THAT is an expieriance. If ford had continues with it, it would have been great. I cant wait to get my 351C in my stang up to par. and then do some work. We have a guy on base with a 71 mach like mine pulling 11s in the quarter no power adders and not a whole lot of work into the motor. As fotr the 351W it has potential we all now, alot of pro streeters use it for FOX stangs nowadays. If the Cleveland only had a better aftermarket.....well at least it is starting to grow from what I can see......
