Question 7.3 powerstroke value?

Greets all
I'm usually hanging out at the '73 to 79' forum, but this time I have a question for all you diesel people.
I'm turning my 1987 E 350 Club Wagon into a 4x4. I have most everything I need but just recently I went back to the old home town and ran into an old friend of mine who has been a mechanic for almost 50 years. He has some really interesting stuff he is going to sell come springtime, including a late model E 350 with a 7.3 Powerstroke that he had aquired for services rendered from a client who couldn't pay in cash. The van is in great shape except for the E40D which for whatever reason no longer works. The driveshafts are new which I understand are expensive and the 7.3 had aquired a new vacuum pump plus other minor fixes and runs well, a fact I couldn't check out 'cos it was under eight feet of snow and it was -45F. I don't know dielsels and thier values at all, but I think the price is a good one at $1200- CDN. What say you?

Cheers Mutant

A good running used engine is worth more than that by itself!! I think it's a great price for the complete vehicle. Do it!!
