Question 300 ZF swap clutch question

I have a 1981 300 6 on propane. I'm swapping out the old T-19 for a ZF5. The clutch already installed on the 300 is a nice new 11". The ZF came with a 10" clutch. Comparing the depths between the 10 an 11" clutches, the 11" is 1/2" thicker than the 10" . Question: Considering the thickness difference of 1/2", can I use the 11" clutch with the ZF instead of having to change the flywheel for the 10" clutch the ZF came with? Some flywheels are dual bolt pattern for both the 11" and 10" pressure plates this one is a single bolt pattern. Thanks.

You might want to read through some of the threads regarding the ZF swap. You should find what you need there, if you're willing to dig a bit.

I have been through all the posts I can find on 300 ZF swaps. None of them address the question that I have regarding clutch size depths.

The zf swaps are useless for 300.
Honestly, your gonna have to measure whatever you can.
I'm doing a motor and zf swap/build in a month and my thread will be FULLY documented on every aspect.

I went from a 10" clutch with np435 to the zf with an 11". The 10 was slimmer, but it all fit up nicely. I'd double check that the clutch part #'s are interchangeable between the t18 and zf. IIRC, they are the same so the should swap with no problems.

Someone told me the hydraulic clutch will adjust to the proper depth. Can't remember who said it though, which means it coulda been a parts counter kid, so take with a grain of salt.

Talking 300 T19 to ZF swap clutch sizes

Thank you kindly for you input everyone. From what I can tell the 11" clutch will put a little more preload on the release bearing. This might have the effect of the bearing wearing faster. I'll have to do a special process called "wait and see" Everything else fits just fine, except for the drive shaft, which I guess will have to be custom modded due to the fact that the T19 uses a front slip yoke and the ZF uses a uni on each end. Have to make sure that my drive angles are perfect for such a short drive shaft.

Mines 4x4 so I have issues with driveshafts or yokes, but I will need a different crossmember
