I have a 72 F100/390/c6 and the old Autolite 2 bbl. has developed a leak from the accelerator pump. Turns out the housing is cracked. So...I stumbled across a Holley 2 bbl. The Holley is a list 8226 (Ford OEM from a 75 302 cu in. ) The guy I got it from rejetted the carb and had it on a 390. This weekend I pulled the Autolite 2100 off and went to install the Holley. Problem is there is a big difference in the geometry for the linkage. The linkage setup on the 72 just will not work. Any suggestions?
if you are talking about the kickdown for the C6, the easy thing would get the linkage from the 302. if you didnt pay for the holly yet take it back and but one that has the right linkage ,bob
Thanx Bob...the carb has a Ford kickdown connection and that works OK. The issue is that the pedal rod is too short (relative to the carb actuator arm). I think that if I lengthen the pedal rod a bit it will reduce the severity of the "uphill" angle for the linkage rod and might work out. I have already paid for the card (Ebay) so I have no access to the old 302 doner truck. The guy I got the carb from was running it on a 390.
