if your going to go with a 302 to 351 swap you should start looking for a new Y-pipe for your exhaust also.
theres around a 2" diff in width.
so your 302 pipe is 2 short.
I guess you could just cut it in the middle and have a 2-3 section added.
bolt your exhaust up then add a small section of flexable exhaust tube. That should get you the the exhaust shop.
It will also help them line everything up.
I screwed up doing mine.
I went from 351 to 302 so I had to cut 2" out.
I lined it all up marked it and took it and had it welded.
When I got home the pipe was about 1/2" off on the drivers side.
So I had to recut it. this time I took it back with the pipes in the truck so they could spot weld it then take it out.
Cost me for trying to rush stuff. Thought i'd pass this along also hope it helps make everything go smooth.
