I put in a killswitch on my 94 bronco, just found the starter wire (forgot what color) and put a switch right between the wire, so you can have it on or off, off will cut off power to the starter!
Not that I can necessarily help, but whoever made the chip/kill switch for my Ranger is good. I pul that chip and it doesn't start, crank, anything really. You can get the "acc" function, but lose that chip.....
I thought about it and I think what I've got goes to the starter and computer--somehow. I don't think the body electronics need the computer, so that makes sense.
Well, the easiest would be the "s" terminal on the starter. So it won't crank, but if it's a manual tranny truck, it could be roll started if they jerked the ignition out of the column.
i got one more question, the starter on a 95 ranger is mounted on the top or the drivers side firewall, right? also anyone know what wire i should cut?
There are either 1 or 2 small terminals on the starter relay.
On the starter relay there is the Letter S which indicates the starter circuit , it should be in-line with the small terminal,
You are basically going to interupt that one wire with a switch so the only way for current to travel through and initiate the starter to turn is with the switch in the closed position,
Remember the Relay !
Using a little current to switch for use of big current.
