Increase Performance 5.4L
What do you think is the best upgrade for performance 01' 5.4L 4X4
New air filters? (K&N vs. Airaid)
Chips? (Diablo vs. Superchip)
I already redid the exhaust to Flowmaster. Minor increase in hp
Are these things worth it and reliable without screwing up my truck.

You got the "big 3". :-)
Intake & exhaust should be 100% OK. Although, Ford does frown upon the oil-based filters. They claim the oil causes premature failure of the MAF sensor. Just don't over-oil the K&N and you should be perfectly fine. These two mods are my favorite. They really let the engine spin up quickly.
Chips... I like the SuperChip that's been in the Expedition for the past 4 years. My wife (it's her Expy) loves the chip and wouldn't let me remove it even when gas prices soared a while back. However, Ford REALLY frowns upon chips and will most certainly give you some warranty grief if they discover you have one installed. Chances are that you will have no problems- just be ready to accept the responsibility of your actions (mods) should something happen.
