Hello, I have a 87 full size Bronco and I need some help diagnosing a problem. I came to a stop sign pushed in the clutch and felt a pop in the pedal. Well, when I went to let out the clutch the truck acts like it wants to go, then doesn't. The clutch pedal is a little spongey but still comes out all the way. The truck tries to pull forward but then acts like there is no clutch grip. Could this be a hydraulics problem? Slave cylinder? Bleeding Problem? Or do I need a new Clutch? Help! Any advise is appreciated.
If it were a problem with air in the lines then the clutch would not disengage when you pressed the pedal. This is the opposite of your problem; the clutch stays disengaged.
You could see if there's something wrong at the slave cylinder--like the piston isn't retracting, or the fork is somehow stuck. Failing that, you may be pulling the tranny to check things out.
