I may not be able to answer it correctly but I know there were several mustangs that were built for racing down there so I am sure it had something to do with that. I read some info on specail mustangs down there once on a mustang site I visit.
It appears the mexi blocks do not have a higher nickle content as every one thinks and they were used in trucks and buses but not sure if they were used in the states in trucks and buses. I will guess they weren't.
