Im thinking about installing a ride rite air helper set on my truck. The kit can be seen on dieselsite.com. Can this setup be used to level off the truck from front to back? Im getting tired of looking at the sagging front end of my truck.
i have air bags on the rear of my truck(only to increase load capacity)if i unload my camper and forget to let the air out of my bags the thing rides like a hardtail harley. if you want to get the front end up a little i would put a leveling kit on to maintain the ride you have now
IMO you would be better off with a leveling kit. Full airbags in the front will ride like a lumberwagon. I think somebody here (quad maybe) has already been that route and abandoned it because of the horrible ride.
If you're just looking to level your truck out just go with a leveling kit. Trying to level the truck out with air will give you a crappy ride. Air bags are meant to support more weight in your truck while holding it at the SAME ride height. Using them to lift would take weight OFF the stock leaves and so you'd have to pump the bags up to max for any real lift and thus the crappy ride!
I dont think a leveling kit will do the trick. The front leafs are in tough shape. the left side of the truck is about 2 inches lower than right. I think new springs is the only way to correct it.
In that case just go down to Ford and get a set of the max GVW (x-code) springs. They'll lift a LWB CC truck about 1.5 inches. Shorter trucks will go up 2" or better. The springs are about $125 each.
hey cookie88 those (x-code) springs work on a 2000 f-250SD and will they change the way the truck rides.
Yep, direct bolt in replacement. I haven't gone the x spring route yet, but about 95% of the people I've talked to say they ride better than the stockers.
I just re-realized you have a 95, you might want to get a second opinion to make sure the X's will fit. If they will not then I apologize for misleading you.
