i was looking through my JC whittiny catalouge for header options as the colector on my right one is shot. i found the 119.00 longtube headers, and the true dual exsaust system that matches it...would this be a good alternitive for a broke HS student? how loud do you think it would be? i will get the turbo dynomax mufflers to cut down on sound but i dont want to be blasting people like i am now. this headers look good but i want some opinions. thanks.
You have to watch that, I got a dual exhaust system from another source, along with headers that were ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE, and it turns out that the dual exhaust was for stock exhaust manifolds. It may have worked with some modification, though.
If you're sure that the dual exhaust system is for the headers, then go for it. What's the brand, and how much is the dual exhaust system?
the headers and true dual kit are made by performance headers. the kit will bolt directly to the headers at the top of page 155. the kit i want is 169.00 for 3in colectors and 2.5" pipe and "turbo" mufflers. i have a turbo muffler on my truck right now (dosent do crap with my bad header) it's a dynomax . the headers are 119.00 bucks.
I would check out someone like: Auto Haus, 915 North 5th in Sandpoint first (No Promo, they're just the first I found on a search).
At least that way if the parts don't fit, you can probably take them back.
If you mail order (which I have nothing against), you have to pay the shipping back if they don't fit. Then there's no guarantee that they'll accept them because you tried to install them.
Also, if your F-250 is a camper special, they MAY not fit (not sure about the '75's).
I run Dynomax's and have had no problems, others have.
Same thing with Hedman.
I haven't heard anything bad about Flowtech's yet, and they're priced pretty good too.
If you have dual tanks, check that the exhaust is compatible. The driver's side will have to cross over under the bell housing and run down the passenger side.
