Woah there nellie... 3 bolt autos can be directly swapped to 3 bolt manuals(I think only Superwinch makes these,) but need a conversion kit to go to standard manual hubs. If you are needing a comversion kit to swap your 5 or 6 bolt autos to manuals, I suggest finding different manuals... The racheting nut system is far inferior to the lock nut setup...
If you are planning any type of traction aiding front differential, definatley do the manuals first, all kinds of funky things can go on with autos and anything other than an open diff... The steering feedback can be quite, umm, Interesting....
Hello, My 1996 F150 came with 3 screw manuals, they were factory with the c-clip on axle shaft not installed, is this correct????
Holy antiquities Batman, an old thread. I don't completely follow your question. There will be a c-clip in the differential unless someone has done the spring trick. I notice that there are some links to keep picks and instruction that have been removed from this thread which has limited its usefulness. It would have been better just to delete the whole thread if there is a concern of comepetion with the links. Paranoia will destroy ya!!!!
