I just bought a 99 Expd with 110K. I have had it 1 week. It is hesitating so violently if feels like its going to tear the tranny off its mounts. I went back to the Ford Dealer who sold it to me and paid $200 for a new COP and plug. No change. Then I read here that cleaning the Mass Airflow Sensor might work. Did that. NO LUCK. Now, after warming up completely, the engine will die altogether under low load. I am sick to my stomach. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

'98 Exped. vibrates under load

My 1998 Expedition vibrates under load, too. Just came back from a long trip, where it drove fine. Check engine light stays on and flashes at 60+ mph. I'm guessing spark plugs or catalytic converter. Tried STP and filled with higher grade fuel- no luck. How do you change the spark plugs with that bar across all?...

This may seem like a stupid question but then again some people just dont know any better,my question is did you before pulling take the trasmission out of overdrive , i dont mean to insult anyone but anything can happen and that is only if you have a automatic transmission.

Guess I missed part of your reply.. Transmission seems to work fine. It just skips - a lot. Tune up would probably catch the problem, but wanted to change the spark plugs if not too difficult.
