If I'm in a hurry I might.. just might use my electric Norelco, but I really have to be in a hurry because it feels like I am having all the hair plucked off my face one by one.. If I have any amount of time I go for my mach 3.

Preshave followed by an electric razor. After that I use a cheap bic disposable for a quick once over just to make sure I didn't miss anywhere. Electric razors work best if you are right out of the shower and then use preshave. If your face is totally dry then you will get burned.

i use the Mach 3, and Edge clean gel. Ditto onshaving right after the shower, any other time of day and I get terrible razor burn, it hurts a lot. My girl doesn't like me to cut my hair, but she can't stand a beard. go figure.

I use a Gillette "Sensor Excell" twin blade, and Old Spice cream. I wish I still had my old safety razor but it got lost in a move somewhere over the years. Do they even sell those anymore?? An electric won't touch my beard. I pre shave with a blade with the grain then finish off against the grain. After you have shaved that way a few times the razor burn and nicks go away.

I prefer the manual type only-

the Gillette Excel.

Me too. Beard trimmer all the way...

Doesn't matter... if I use a blade, you can't tell within 4 hours, anyway, why bother.

Manual, the Mach3 is the best. Though they have gotten pretty expensive since Gilllette lost that patent violation. So, I have been using the cheaper Bic, though they are not as good.

I do like electric the best, though the good ones cost over $80 and I have not had one last more then 18 months. So cost wise, the manual is the best.

Mach3 and 99%of the time I shave in the shower. All shaving creme is good for is to hold moisture on your face. A shower provides all the moisture you need. I don't have a real heavy beard, but enough to get razor burn if using just water and creme. In the shower I never get burned.

Single blade bic for me. I shave while in the shower, no gel no creme just the shower water. I only get razor burn if i go against the grain other than that its pretty smooth. I have a safety razor, it was my grandpas. I didnt know that u could change the blades, cause ive never used it, lol.

I wonder how the new 4 bladed razors are?
