Do you all prefer an electric razor or manual type?

How about using Neet

Neet hair away !

I have an old safety razor,Old Philashave Electric ,2 or 3 Triple blade Mach 3's, Trac II's,Bic throw-aways.

I prefer the Old Gillette safety razor & the Mach 3.

To get rid of razor burn I either use Skin Bracer aftershave or Old Spice aftershave cream.

Razorburn, how do you get rid of it? I get it all the time and I hate it! I got tired of using a normal razor so I went to an electric razor. With a normal razor I could shave up without getting razor burn at times and then other times I'd get it. Now I use an electric razor, it's faster. I can get a smoother shave, but still have that razor burn on the neck I use that Electrasol preshave stuff and then Remington Face Saver with that and afterwards Old Spice aftershave and still get razor burn. What gives? Must be I have sensitive skin. I'm going to give up on shaving and turn into a warewolf!

Howdy,
I'm old school. I use the old "safety" razors. You know, the type with the screw section on the handle that opens the top to expose the double edged blade. I've tried electric but couldn't get as close a shave for long without the electric razor pulling hair. I'm sure Mach 3 and others are better, but I'm too cheap to try 'em. I can get a months worth of blades for less than a pack of cheap smokes.

I use a Gillette "Sensor Excell" twin blade with "Edge" gel shave cream. I think the gel gives you more lubrication which probably helps avoid razor burn. Also, you might try shaving exclusively "down hill", that is, shave with downward strokes instead of pulling your razor up against the grain. I tried that a long time ago and it's been a lot easier on my skin.

Yep. Couldnt have said it better myself. I would like to add, if your out of shaving cream/gel.......aloe vera right out of the bottle works great.

ELECTRIC- BRAUN

I always use an electric - braun brand only. I will get a nasty rash of razor burn if I use a actual blade. I have tried many brands and BRAUN is by far the best ype. Expensive but worth it in the long run.

Gillette Sensor Excel or Mach 3 (depends on how much money I have when it's time to buy razors) as well as a gel shaving cream. I find the best thing to do to minimize razor burn (at least on my beautiful baby face ) is to have a shower and shave right as soon as you get out. That way all the hairs are soft. At least that's what works for me!

-Matt

P.S. BuiltTough's probably got a baby face too! Baby Face BuiltTough! HeHe!

How many of you shave while you shower? I find that it helps tremendously with razor burn.

I shave all the time in the shower. Use Edge Gel (Clean Formula) and Mach III. Great shave as long as the blades and lubricating strips are fresh. When I was in college, I used to sit in the steam room for about 10 minutes and sweat. Then shave with only that and a razor. Had a cup of water to clean the whiskers from the blade. Those were the best shaves I ever had.

What's a razor? I haven't used one for about 3 years. When I need to shave, I use my hair clipper without a guard, close enough for me. I haven't clean shaven my face for 10 years, I wonder what it looks like?

I use a disposable Bic and hot water to clean it. Saves time, and does a pretty good job.

I mean heck, I wouldnt shave at all if I didnt go to work. Aint like anybody's ever rubbing on my face anyhow.
