E-brake
02With e-brake problems. push pedal and it won't budge.1 week away from saftey inspection! No extra dough right now,terrible plow season.Is there an easy fix? Anyone have this problem?

Sounds like your cables are full of salt & crud. After installing alarms & remote starters for years I have run into a few vehicles that after pushing the E-brake pedal down to get it out of the way, I ended up with the brake stuck on. I was usually able to grab the cable housings and twist them around (like wrestling a snake) until they released. I would start from the rear forward and have someone work the pedal at the same time. If you could flush the housings with spray silicone it would help. Don't use oil because it will just catch more dirt. When you get it loose use it on a regular basis to keep it from sticking. E-brakes have always been a joke to me because if you don't use them they are worthless when you finally have an emergency. Probably why they call them "parking" and not "emergency" brakes now!
