well, i found those telescoping mirrors i was looking for. thanks to everyone for the info. now, i pulled the black panel off the upper corner of the door and unbolted the existing mirrors, but i can't seem to find where the wiring harness is. from where the wires leave the door frame, i can't tell if the harness would be behind the door panel or not, and i was wary of starting to tear the panel off if i didn't need to. does anyone know where the wiring harness would be located on a 2000 F250? Also, if i do have to take the door panel off, i didn't see any screws/mounting equipment. does this panel just pop out in the same way the one on the upper corner does?
Well to remove the door panels pop off the little red reflector thing on the bottom half of the door. Then remove the screws that are exposed. Next, remove the screw at the bottom corner of the door.
Then, pop up the plastic piece that has the pwr windows and door lock switches. I think there is a screw there also.
Now the door should lift up and then out. It is important to lift up as there are tabs that you can break if you do not.
Just remembered... There are a couple rubber plugs on the inside of the door where the mirror is. You should be able to loosen those and remove/install the new mirrors. You should not have to remove the door panel to do this.
