I was ready to get it and they just switch brands. I believe the old one (Hammerhead, made in Taiwan) is a bit better than the current Knight (made in china).
Can NE1 confirm this?
I believe the hammer head is better than the knight, it just what they had at the time. Yeah, I know, about the chinese box, but its better than I could buy at sears for the same money.......enough said bout that........as for the hammerhead, I never saw one of those until after I bought the knight. The knight is i feel a good quality box.......the price i quoted, $654.99 was before tax, I bought a few other things too.....the Item # for the set up I got is #683401.........

As someone who has dedicated my life to defending and protecting this great nation (24 years so far, and it damn sure isn't for the money), I have no problem buying something that is a true quality product regardless of where it is made. The American worker has priced thierselves out of alot of these jobs.
Just my $.02 cents but quality is quality.

Hey Old Ford Fan, I too have dedicated most of my adult like defending this country too, I've got 21 in and counting....your right, it isn't for the money....but I wouldn't change it.....Dave

Got some news for you. Where I live (Canada) most Craftsman wrenches and tools are made overseas, and yes this sucks. Right now Craftsman USA makes their wrenches and such in the USA. But.. its only a matter of time(Compare the old tools to the new). You think the computer shiat and other components on Ford trucks are all made in the States?
My craftman toolboxes say made in usa. I know all parts on the Ford trucks are not made in the USA. So does this me I should by a ricer? I don't think so.
I'm just tryin to ruffle your feathers alittle, nothin personal.
The harborfreight tool box mentioned before is a direct knock-off of my snap-on box. It has as good quality as my snap-on, but about $4000 less that what I paid

No way I'd buy a ricer either. Half my Ford truck is made in Mexico, wonder if thats any better.
I bought mine last summer(actually a b-day gift from my other half)...guess going to Costco everyti,e and rubbing it gave her a hint!!!
The Hammerhead version is much better than the new Knight version in my opinion. When I saw that they had changed brands, I took a look at it.
The main difference I saw was the drawers. The Hammerheads are sooooo smooth and effortless to open and also have a liitle bit of a lock when you push them all the way in (just have to push them alittle harder when just about closed....keeps them from partially opening??) The welding is beautiful ....when I picked mine up , they were in 2 seperate boxes.....the smaller one weighed 180 lbs. according to the box..now thats BEEFY!!
They also included rubber drawer liners for all the drawers. It was an investment that will never rust, etc. And they do clean up nice...alittle bit of Zep stainless steel cleaner from Home Depot and it is shining again!!
