hard starting 302 with new 600 edelbrock w/ intake
Replaced the stock carb and intake on a 83' 302 for a friend with a 600cfm edelbrock carb and a edelbrock performer intake....
Starts good when cold, i've adjusted the choke a little because the 4 bbl were not opening up / locked out. Idles and drives good.
Set base timing at 8 degrees, watched vacuum advance it to 35 degrees. Seems a little sluggish on the road, may increase timing later.
The problem is when he stops for about 20 minutes the motor is hard to restart. It's not long enough for the choke to close down, we've watched that. You end up having to pump the gas or hold it all of the way open to get the engine to fire up.
Any ideas?
thanks!
Jay
