Thanks a lot there HEAT!!!
After reading your post last Friday, I got the urge to spend about
3 hours cleaning off winter. That was Saturday I started, today is Tuesday. I have had to wash this thing 2 times Saturday, twice, Sunday and once Monday night, before putting it to bed for the week.
I just want to thank you for placing the little seed (or dropping a large stone on my head) about spring cleaning. For some reason here in the midwest you should wait until the end of April...
MAN BLACK IN A PAIN TO KEEP CLEAN, BUT WHEN IT IS NOTHING LOOKS BETTER.
Cheers.
Hope your spring cleaning lasted longer the 5 or 6 blocks
I'm an old Iowa native. I know all about Winter and Spring there.
It's tough keeping anything clean during the Winter months. Especially if you have to drive the country roads. However the Winter's seem to be a lot milder now then when I was there. Moved to AZ in 88 and I haven't shoveled a bit of snow or sraped an icy windshield since, hahaha.
I couldn't wait for the Spring thaw (first day above freezing) so I could break out the crotch rocket. Had a few wrecks caused by the sand that was still left on the roads though.
Yeah, my Spring clean and wax may begin this weekend if my wax arrives UPS in time.

Heat I knew something was wrong with you. Been out in the sun too long or he's from Iowa!
My wife doesn't like you. "What wax now?"
Does the Collinite #476 show swirl marks? I used Collinite Wax (not #476) in the past. It lasts much longer than anything else, but it showed swirl marks until the vehicle had been washed and dried about a dozen times.
Moving to AZ, part of the Federal Witness Protection program and parole (not payroll) agreement. Got caught with a functional brain in Iowa. Big trouble.
Sorry to hear that your wife has no taste in real men. hahahaha

Does this mean I will be moving again? The same thing just happened up in MN, so they send me here. Now fron what you said Heat, I will have to move again...
What state can you move to with a "FUNCTIONAL BRAIN"?
Keep me posted.
Thanks
I didn't say it was mine. (trying to sell brains on E-Bay, didn't work out...long story)hahahaha
Come on out to Arizona. I'm a perfect example that they'll take anyone.
It will be expensive for you though. All of the tires on your house are probably dry rotted and you'll have to buy a new set before you hook up to her.
SLC10844, no it does not show swirl marks. When applying and removing the wax, I use a left to right motion, not a circular motion. Use Meguiars #83 previous to using Collinite for best results.
I don't want to move around! Man I hate that when that happens. Found the #83, but have to wait till Friday to order the Collinite. Ponies got me busy. Heat, do y'all need some rain. We got plenty of it here. All you want. I'll just take a road trip out there and wash the truck. Bam! Rain. Then more rain.
I'll admit to being a little behind the times when it comes to waxing a truck. I've never tried any of the multiple step systems: clay bar, special cleaner, special wax, etc. Are the results that much better than conventional waxes?
I've used the Meguiars professional series of swirl removers, etc. on my older sun faded metallic paint jobs and they do work with a lot of elbow grease. The sun's UV's really affect the paint jobs out here. In about the third year, if you don't maintian a good wax and or shade policy, the paint gets pretty faded. The city pollution also deposits a lot of crap on the finishes and the baked in water spots suck.
I'v always used off the shelf waxes, thought I'd try a new process using the clay bar and Collinite.
Who knows, recommendations and everything I've read is positive.
You're not picking on me are you Quad? hahahha
FYI:I'm watching O'l HorsieBoy.
No, I'm not picking on you, not this time anyway. I just got done waxing my truck with an over-the-ciounter brand, and it looks great. I really don't know if it would look better, or the wax would last longer if I went to one of the "upscale" brands.
