EZ Locker for 96?
It does make a little noise and I feel it engaging and disengaging when turning, but it's nothing annoying to me. What Jay said about the NoSlip pretty much applies to the LockRight. It will chirp the tires quite easily if you give it a little gas while pulling off and making a right turn. It does have some driveline backlash that you can feel when shifting between Park or Nuetral and Drive or Reverse. At first it was disconcerting, but I have grown used to it and it doesn't bother me now. I use a soft foot with it and it behaves itself fine most of the time.
Off road it is awesome. I did deep blow sand with it last weekend and it had no problems, even with my tires aired up.
Thanks for the information. I've prett much decided on going with an Arb or one of the electrical actuated lockers. I understand Eaton should be coming out with an electrical locker for the 10.25 sometime next year... The price should be in the $700 to $800 range I believe. No compressor or air lines though.
I don't know whether to get the Arb now, $1,500 for locker, pump and installation, or wait for the Eaton.
I could just forget the locker and just buy a new stereo and other cool stuff. ;-]
<sigh>
Thanks!!!
Jarhead

I forgot to ask you earlier. Did you install the Lockright yourself? Is it a do-it-yourselfer or do I need a shop to do it?
Thanks..
Jarhead,
Another orphaned 10.25 owner....
I didn't realize the EZ Locker was so inexpensive. When I found out it wasn't available for my axle (10.25" Ford), I lost interest in pricing it. For me, it was a choice between the LockRight for $325 or the Detroit Locker for $600, with the NoSlip unavailable for my axle. I chose the LockRight.
How do you like the Elocker you dropped in? Eaton is supposed to come out with one for the 10.25 next year and I'm thinking of buying one.
Are you happy with yours?
Thanks...
I have an Eaton Elocker in the 8.8 of my Bronco and an EZ locker up front.

I had the LockRight put in when I had my gear change done. All info I have indicates that an average doityouselfer could install it. It was just easier for me to have the shop put it in since they already were going to have the rear end apart at the time. Hope that helps.
