this will hopefully be a simple answer, but I've looked through many other threads and saw some great ideas on flame throwers. They all seemed to work on carbuerators, but somewhat reluctant on EFI's. A few ideas I saw was to unplug the O2 sensor to make it run richer. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with the EFI.
It doesn't work because you'll kill the catalytic converter and the injectors won't pulse with the ignition off. Easiest thing to do it on is a carbed vehicle with a manual choke and a stick. You flip the key to the off position, pull the choke, and mash the gas, then open the choke, pop the clutch, and keep on going.
Not enough to launch flames. you could run another injector with live power and fuel after the cats. flip the switch to activate the extra injector and there you go.
what exactly happens when you choke, mash and pop the clutch? does it throw flames out the tailpipe? this is the first ive heard of this without running a plug and gas to the end of your pipes.
With the manual choke seup you still need a plug at the end of teh tailpipe. When you shut off the ignition there's no spark which equals raw fuel. Pull the choke and that equals no air (more fuel). Mash the gas and you have even more dumping in there, you hit the rear sparker, get your flames, and pop the clutch to restart the motor.
