I have a 94, 7.3, 4x4, 5spd and have towed a 14,000 lb trailer from RI to VT and it worked good. I am now buying a 3 axle 21,000 GVWR lb trailer. By my figures, the trailer carries the weight and I would adjust the load on the trailer to transfer about 3-4000 lbs of tongue weight onto the truck, which brings it to the rated 8600 lb. GVWR. Gotta get my moneys worth out of the truck.
