dumping ashtrays
yesterday was the first time in a long time, I looked out the window in the parking lot and saw somebody had dumped out their ashtray. Does this bother any of you or have you done it before? I don't see how they could be that lazy.

It is pure laziness. That kind of thing really P.O.'s me too! There are trash cans everywhere in easy access locations for people to use.

It's rediculous, believe me I'm a smoker and it drives me nuts. Those people are just lazy. What does it take to take it to a trash can most conveinent stores, home depot's, super markets etc. have a trash can outside their stores. My wife flicks her butt out the window..and that drives me nuts...This one time down the shore in Margate New jersey when I was younger we where with a bunch of girls and this one chick says... as she's putting out her butt in the sand " ooh look the world's biggest ash tray." Well needless to say she didn't do that the rest of the summer.

I smoke, I dont dump ashtrays throw out cig butts or litter if I see someone has done that I might give it a seconds worth of thought, but it sure isnt worth my time to get worked up about it,
I wouldnt support law enforcement enforcing no throwing cigs butts out the window either, I think that would be an utter waste of law enforcement..........I dont live in a dryed out watseland that would go up like a paper and fire either so fires are usually non existant from discarded smoking materials
I dont really care for the cigarette ***** either, IMHO government should have no authority to tell business owners that they cant have smoking sections or even astrays in the place for that matter, A NYC pawn shop owner was cited for having an ashtray in his own pawn shop, he was the only person there and he owned the joint, thats absurd, then bloomberg has some sort of party and there are rumors of bigtime cigar smoking in the hall, cigar smoking at his table and he claims "to have not seen any smoking" or atleast thats the story I heard
And some may argue that NJ is the biggest ashtray in the world

do you suppose it is more men or woman who do this? I read an article once that said young men will dump out 69,000 ashtrays a month

Hey watch it..... I too live in NJ, it aint no ashtray. Me and Codasmog live in the southern portion of the Garden State. It is actually pretty nice.

Dumping ash trays is totally gross.
Several years back when my wife would take our kids to the bus stop one mother would continually throw out her cigarette buts on the ground. So one day after every one had gone, my wife gathered them all up. She placed them in an envelope and mailed them back to the lady with a note. The note read something to the effect the I see you have been forgetting to pick these up every day and I know you are concerned about the beauty of our neighborhood. So - I thought I woudl return these to you..

A coworker and I are on the "Butt Patrol" at work. Once a week we pick up all the butts around the doors and outdoor smoking area. It's disgusting; we wear rubber gloves to do it.
We ask anyone we see tossing butts on the ground to please use the ashtrays. Next time we see them, thet get Butt Patrol duty.
One guy had the nerve to walk up as we were picking up butts, stand next to the ashtray, and throw his cig on the ground next to it. We just stopped and stared at him until he realized what he did, then he put it in the can.
BTW, we both smoke. But we don't litter.

in washington if you are caught throwing a lit cigarette but out the window it is a $986.00 fine instantly, and you can take it to court, but who is the judge gonna believe anyway. money talks.
kind of a waste of time to enforce it, but i guess it can be worth it at that price.
