White smoke is usually antifreeze in the combustion chamber...the gurgling sound may be compression getting into the cooling system...Check your coolant level if its ok then maybe its something else....
Do you get that tell-tale smell of antifreeze from the white smoke or have you noticed?
Not quite sure, but I lean towards the EGR...but can't get that idea to link up with the gurgling/grinding noise.
thanks for the info, I orderd a service manual and plan on doing the job myself..Just one more thing to have to workon..allthough im disappointed that it happened this soon. Truck is not abused and always taken care of. Oil (amsoil) was not milky, but about 2 qts. overfilled
My first suggestion in this would be as 99 said .
1)compression chk
2))coolant sytem press.chk
3)if it is head gasket ,make sure you get the updated gasket . chk head for flatness. These heads can't be milled because of clearances.
