To the best of my knowladge, my trucks drive train is stock. I'm trying to find out exactly what I have for differentials.
The front diff tag says 610610-2
The rear diff tag says 582A7A
Are these the numbers to determin the diffs?
Another question, the 1356 t-case is a full time system? How does that work? I have auto hubs and the drive shaft doesnt spin if not in 4x leading me to believe ots not fulltime. I'm confused?
I'm looking for the ratios and the type, limited slip or not. I know the rear is LS, but not sure of the front. Then proceding with upgrades from there.
Hope these number help. Thanks
front dif tag 354 E9TASA 610310-2
rear diff tag 582A7A 3L5588OH27
rear diff case FOTW4026AA
Also, I was wondering.....
I hear of converting auto hubs to manuals. The auto hubs have 3 torx screws, mine has five. Never heard mention of 5 torxs on an auto hub?
Front diff is a 3.54 open, rear is a 3.55 limited slip 8.8" ford rearend. It looks like the front axle has been swapped at one point in time since by the tag it's an 89 axle.
The casting has an 89 date code in the part number, but this doesn't indicate it was replaced. The factory may have had some left overs and decided to continue to use them as 87 through 91 front ends are virtually identical.
We have several threads about hub swaps. I think you won't need a kit to convert yours to manual...just the hubs, but read up to find out.
