I've already posted this on the Paint forum and thought I'd post it here just to get more input. I was wondering if anyone has had a ghost or regular flame job done on their ranger over the stock paint. Also, about how much would it cost? One more question, what would be a complimetary color to harvest gold, you can see a pic of my truck in my sig, I was thinking of a copper color or something similar. Any replys/info. appreciated. Thanks guys.
Never had that done, always wanted to but didn't have the thousands of bucks to spare to do the job right.
Personally I'm not partial to flames, I think they're so common that they've become asinine for cars.
I was considering taking my truck to a really really good shop and seeing if they could paint my truck as a 3D color block. I think its a cool concept - Red as the X axis, Blue as the Y axis, and Yellow as the Z axis, drive my virtual truck into the center of the cube and paint it based on whatever color corresponds to the body panel at that point. I'm betting I couldn't find a paint shop that could do it.
Anyway, Copper sounds like a nice color to go with gold, doesn't stick out too much and keeps the metalic motif, you could also use steel (the color that is).
Paint jobs are a personal matter. If you like it; do it. The cost will depend on how much you want to spend on your truck. The complementary color that would be perfect for your Ranger is the color you like. But if I were to pick one for Harvest Gold, it would be a maroon, red, or violet. That almost sounds like a question for the Pig P-oh sorry; that other forum. If you really are serious about picking colors, get a color wheel. Visit the art galleries. Talk to artists. They really know colors.
