I realize I have been posting a lot lately, but hey, I've been doing a lot of stuff to my SD!
I ordered the cab clearance lights from the Ford Dealer and want to install them myself. I remember reading I think in this section of the forum some tips on the install but after searching for a half hour I could not find what I was looking for. Someone mentioned a way to cut the holes in the roof leaving a clean cut - i.e. not using a hole saw. I think it was called a "half-round" or something?
Anybody got some tips out there for a bro that wants to do his own cab lights?
HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF THE NEW SCROLL SAW ATTACHMENT FOR THE DREMEL WITH A METAL CUTTING BIT? TRACE YOUR HOLES AND CUT EM' OUT. I'VE USED THE ATTACHMENT AND IS IS SLICKER THAN SNOT ON A DOOR HANDLE. IT CUTS VERY PRECISELY, YOU CAN SET THE DEPTH AND EVERYTHING. tHE ATTACHMENT AND BITS ARE ABOUT $20 FOR THE DREMEL.
So its been 9 years... did you ever get those cab lights installed? Im thinking about ordering cab lights for my truck (which DOESNT already have cab lights). Is it a pain int he butt? What am i getting myself into by installing them myself?
