ChevySniper - It's a small world, my relatives opened up a donaught (Doughnut or Donut) shop in Big Bear sevearal years ago, their main problem I think was that they could never go out of town when they needed to and so they sold it a while back, other than that I think it was successful though.

Good Luck

acerockola...there are 2 donut shops up here..I serve them both now...both have switched hands 2 times in the last 5 years. They both do very well. Did your relatives have the one in the Stater Bros. shopping center? The other one use to be a pizza place about 4 years ago.

Just to clarify something here, Starbucks is not a franchise. The majority of Starbucks stores in North America are company operated. There are a few exceptions, Starbucks does have a few licensing arrangements with companies who provice access to real estate in locations such as airports, grocery stores, etc.

Red face My apologies, folks.

I reside in "The Big Wet Soggy" (otherwise Known as Vancouver, BC) and we most surely have different rules of confrontation. We do have franchised *tarbucks here, we also have franchised Seattle's Best here & you can franchise a "Second Cup" outlet if you want.

This whole thread would be so much more friendly if I COULD JUST GET A DECENT CUP OF COFFEE !!!

Most of those despicwabile *bucks up yonder are wocated in 'Chapters' Book Stores, 'Safeway' Grocery Stores and local 'Auto Malls'. Seattle's Best and Second Cup are in just about every Mall, Office High Rise or Garden Stroll. So take your pick...

"Waiter... could we have another pot of Earl Grey Tea Please?"

Barstow?, I stop there when I go to Nevada. Give some directions. I usually stop at the donut shop at the east end of main street.

get ready ..as you probably already know being you have a background in sales the vendors will come ooozzzzzzzing out of the woodwork trying to get you to buy their products. In minnesota when you start a new buisness you have to put a add in the paper for 2weeks stating your new buisness announcement, i personally believe its so they can come running to you for money to support city functions.dont be in a real big hurry to join the bandwagon of area buisness owners remember they are people just like you some are bad and some are good and some are just pure pains in the a.. anyway have fun and keep focused on who is important,, the customer. good luck
