axle leaking
I got a 78-79 Dana 44 from the boneyard and replaced my IFS with it. I noticed that fluid smells like gear oil is coming out the passenger front outside knuckle area. (seems like right out the end of the axle housin) Is there a seal at the outer end before the u joint out there, or just an inner one?

There's only the inner seal. There is, however, a dust slinger on the end of the axle shaft that's supposed to keep dust out of the tube. If the inner seal is leaking, the dust slinger won't stop it.
