Question Idles / stalls / runs bad when wet

Our 94 3.0 Aerostar has a weird problem. It seems that when it is wet out, (or when it was wet under the hood while detailing it)the van is hard to start, or stalls after starting and /or runs rough (like it is hitting on 5 cylinders). After it runs for awhile, it seems to smooth out. It has new plugs, wires, fule pump, recent fuel filter. Any ideas?

I had the same problem as of 2 days ago. I decided to wash my engine one day and started having the same problems you just described. I found that I got water inside the distribtor cap and wires. My truck needed a tune up anyway so I changed the distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires and it fixed my problem. Try drying out your distribotor cap.

Thanks, I'll try that!
I forgot to mention that the throttle body and IAC were cleaned during the last service. Also, the idle quality is poor whether it's warm or cold.
