Argh! Lucky &*#%$. We'll be expecting a full comparitive evaluation between stock and modified, sound clips, pics of install and full written tech report to post here on FTE! oh and...
Happy B-Day NoMo. Throw in a set of 4.30's while you are putting in that P-Pack....that way you you will never look back wondering, hmmmmm... should I have gone with the lower gears.. You know what I mean? lol. Did you go with the Ottomind? I left that out with the intention of chipping later if I wanted. So far I don't want it, but.... JPS
Thanks everyone... but the real b-day is still 30 days away. "Mo", the better half of NoMo is being extra good to me this year. :-)
I posted this here because earlier (further up) I had mentioned that I was considering new gears or a Powerpack. I decided to get the Powerpack with NO Ottomind. I don't think the Banks chip is worth the $$. There may be a SuperChip or Diablo in my future though.
Hopefully, the kit will come in next week. But, I may not get it installed until sometime later when it warms up enough to work outside. My truck won't fit in my garage. I'll try to do a write-up of some kind to document the install. Pictures will be plentiful I'm sure.
Also, I'm thinking about just installing the air filter & tail pipe (aka Stinger system) and doing a set of dyno pulls. Then, after I install the headers, do a third set to see if the numbers come out like Banks advertises. What do you think?
NoMo.. If you can do the dyno's with various parts of the P-Pack I would love to see the numbers. I have to rely on my wife timing me doing 0-60's to compare how my HP improvements are doing. The stinger was a piece of cake to install, the headers for me were a b***ch. If you have any questions give me a holler. JPS
Thanks for the offer of help JPS- I may have to take you up on it if things get too hairy. Mostly looks like a PITA to get to all the manifold bolts. Luckily, my truck does not have an EGR system to worry about getting fitted up.
We have a relatively new dyno shop here in T-town so I may try them out. My first (only) dyno run was done in TX when the truck was new- I should probably get one done here (same equipment) now that the truck is broken-in... at least it now has 10,000+ miles.
Geeze, you guys are getting me REALLY stoked! I ordered it a couple of days ago, but haven't been too excited until tonight! Darn you all - now my impatience is growing!
