Have any of you installed mud flaps/guards on your 03 or 04 Expeditions? I'm looking at the molded ones from Ford but am also considering aftermarket ones. If anyone has any pics please post them!
I wasn't sure if I would like them at first. But I definitely like them now. The only hiccup is that the rear ones angle inward for some reason...on to the pics (taken after my weekly brake dust cleaning)...
great...i understand the angled flaps are for the aerodynamics...helps keep direct the airflow from the wheels to the running boards for brake dust storage.
They're a piece of cake to get installed and match up pretty well to the cladding. I don't particularly care for the angled look of the back - everyone that sees them asks me why I installed them at an angle ("crooked" in my part of the world)! So I have to waste time convincing them that they were designed that way (yeah, right they say)!
Took all of a half hour and uses a majority of the existing bolt pattern.

That was a good one!!!!
Fishrising,
I know I can call my local dealer, but how much for the set of four?
I bought a set for my '03 Expy at Pep Boys. Very nice molded ones. I trip up north (MI) and when I returned home the right rear mud flap was melted from hitting the exhaust. The dealer said that they could possibly bend the exhaust toward the back away from teh flap if I wanted to install a new set. Anybody else have a probles like this?
I would guess the flaps you bought at Pep Boys are not heat resistant molded plastic. The ones I bought from Ford have been on for over a year now with no visible sign of problems from the exhaust side.
I'd say spend the money on the OEM flaps before I bent my exhaust pipe.

Yeah...I bought aftermarket ones for my '98 and had the same thing happen. I knew when I put them on and saw that the right rear was against the exhaust pipe it would happen. I just lived with it...sorta had that custom fit to it after it got burned in!
