I have a 99 F-150 with a 5.4L and 54,000. I have a shutter when I depress the break at 40 – 45 MPH, I had the brakes worked on at 48,000 and they have been smooth. The vibration is only between the speeds that were stated. This vibration only occurs after the truck is warmed up and if I allow the truck to cost for a time before depressing the break the vibration seems to be less or nonexistence.
The other item that I have read that this could be is transmission fluid change, which was last done at 30,000 miles. I have a feeling that the fluid is in need of a change, but while it is still under warranty I want to make sure it is nothing more sever. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciative.
I'd change the transmission filter and fluid before the warranty runs out. It's due and It's cheap enough. You may fix it in the process. If there's no change you still have the warranty to fall back on. My 1998 F 150 shutters like clock work at 30,000 miles. A fluid and filter change fixes it. I've change it four times now.
