3.73 vs 4.30 LSD
I ordered the 4.30s LS. Mainly to get the True Track,,, but it seems the 4.30 gets the performance nod too.
heck if I wanted a vehicle with good gas mileage I wouldn't be getting a V10 F350 DRW, haha.
As long as its as good (or hopefully a little better) than my outgoing 454 GMC 3500 DRW I'll be happy.
I am sure the 10 years of technology advance are worth something.
I see guys posting some decent numbers on here for MPG.
My GMC always got 10,,, 10 towing,, 10 empty,,, just 10.
That may be a bit of an exageration, but its pretty darn close.
heres a question,,, I did a Flowmaster 70 Series on my GMC and it changed the whole character of the truck. Better performance, a tad better MPG, more torque. It was pretty dramatic. BUT,,, that was replacing a 9 year old stock muffler.
What are you guys seeing who have added aftermarket mufflers?
I am only really concerned with doing a Flowmaster 70 series as a direct replacement for stock muffler, keeping the stock system otherwise as is.
Not really interested in doing a full cat back, simulated duals, etc.
Also,,, what is the dealer ramifications of that. On my truck it was obviously well out of warranty. Anyone get ragged on by the dealer for doing a performance muffler on a brand new truck?
I also see some of you have airbox mods?
Any applicable to an '04 F350 DRW?
Do they help?
Thanks again guys. Great forum.
Cheers

Jimmy Pet, Flowmaster 53073 is a direct replacement for the stock muff on your V10. 3" offset I/O. Louder than stock but still pretty mellow. This is the same muffler FLowmaster puts on their cat-back system. Basically replaces Ford's good mandrel-bent 3" tubing with Flowmaster's good mandrel-bent 3" tubing. The muffler's about $104 from Summit. This muffler is supposedly heavier duty than a 40 series Flow.
