Math is a type of shorthand. I was not good in high school. My HP calculator can do amazing things.

Learn it or fall behind.

Math is best remembered when practiced. I work in a science field and math is part of my daily routine. I know that after a vacation sometimes I get a bit rusty and need to warm up.

It must be something like handwriting. I do everything on my laptop or desktop now. A pharmacist would have a hard time de-ciphering my scrawl now!!!

On the other hand, if I ever do need to deal with them, there are software packages that address the need quite nicely . As for the algebra, most of the useful stuff sticks to the ribs. If I wanted a minor in math, it's just two classes away.
It's been over 25 years since I got a minor in Math along with a degree in Chemistry. I find that the most I need to use now is simple algebra and canned statistics programs for multivariate analyses while doing DOEs.

I didn't vote 'I'm very good at math', because I don't know what defines being very good.So, I voted 'I guess I know what I'm doing'.Anyway...

In highschool I took trigonometry. Not to difficult once you learn the basic rules and formulas. But I never really paid too close attention, figuring, when the h#ll will I ever use this in the real world!
Well,after being a machinist/toolmaker for the last 25 yrs,
I use trig and other mathematical formulas almost every day!

So kiddies, pay attention in math class, you never know when it may come in handy!

Most of my hs classmates would say that I was very good in math. I feel that i'm ok, now that i'm in college. got a B in Algebra I, A in Geometry, A in Algebra II, A in AP Calculus (3 on the exam), and a B in Calc II in college so far. Never did take trig, but still had to recall some of that in a chapter in calc II.
I'm only 19, so I'm not far enough into the real world to say whether or not I needed all that I was taught. Probably will, considering my major is engineering.
