Hi to All
Have a few bucks that aren't going to be used for truck parts for awhile and thought about putting into savings.
Have been looking at ING and Virtualbank.com
Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
Actually I am looking for the best interest rate with a good company record, no .com sorry we lost your money firm.
Ing and Virtual look to be sound and have the highest interest rate I found.
Local Banks and CU's aren't even paying a full 1% unless CD's and then less than 2% unless you go over two years. I would like to keep it in savings in case I spot a good deal on some parts etc.
I was wondering if anyone is using or has used on line banking and what experience they had.
Thanks
In combination with my debit card, I hardly ever balance my checkbook- I just go online and see what my balance is.
I also do most bill paying through the internet- no stamps needed and I can do it at work and get paid for the fun.
The error rate is much lower than having humans messing with your money. Also, cause I go look at balances every day, I can correct mistakes before they get out of hand.
Make sure you pay nothing for the online privledges, I've heard there are a few banks that charge for the service.
I use Bank of America, it is free.
I pay all my bills, a total of 9 in 1 minute and 6 seconds.
I do not have to lick any stamps and have an immediate
tracking number that it has gone. It is wonderful and easy.
In the year 2001 and into 2002 I had a VERY bad experience with ING concerning an annuity. I guess their objective was to try to get out of paying me 9% so they put me through hell and back. I had all documentation and a contract (thus an agreement), but that didn't phase them much. I went so far as to threaten them (in writing) with reporting my situation to the SEC. In the end, I hired a lawyer to go after them and make things right; in these times I kinda like that 9%. They were fairly unresponsive to communications and drug my matter out for well over a year. I'd never do business with them personally.

Thanks That's the kind of info I was looking for.. They may have a good interest rate, but with me it's customer service 1st.
Thanks again

You may want to look into credit unions in your area; often they pay much better interest than banks and have no service charges. I've been a member of a major aerospace companies credit union for about 13 years and their service is AWESOME!
