5.4 missing bad

5.4 missing bad

2001 5.4 triton motor in E 250 van. Runs great and then justd starts missing.....must get into gas to keep up speed. This may go on for an hour or more and then just clear up like nothing wrong. My mechanic cannot pull any codes. says there isn't any! This happens mostly at highway speeds but not limited to.Help please . Ive had fuel tank drained and fuel filter replaced.

I just had the same problem. all it was was the coil for #7 cylinder- runs fine now.

Sounds like a coil, typically only happening on 97,98s but if your the type to wash your engine a lot, water tends to sit on the coils. You can remove each one and look for greening/corrosion on the spring.
