302-351W size differences

302-351W size differences

Can someone tell me size differences i.e. weight, length,width,height between a 302 and a 351W ?

ive learned here that they are pretty much the same on the outside and the weights also, the difference is internal , and the heads , good luck,bob

the 351w and 302 are very different. 1-the 351w has a taller deck height than the 302. 2- since the deck height is taller the intake maifold is wider on the 351w than on the 302. 3-the 351w uses a larger main journal than the 302.

i have all the numbers at my shop if you need them i can post them tomorow.

The 351 also has more stiffening inside the block than the 302. It weighs 50 pounds more.

Scroob is right, the 351w has alot more "beef" in the botom end

Watch out for the 73-76 302, they have a different deck height. 73-76 used a 8.229 height insted of the 8.206, which makes it lose 1.4:1 in compression.
