getting ready to redo the 5.0L in my '94 F150, need a cam recommendation for use with stock injectors, TB, and so on. only mod to engine is headers and cat back single 3" w/40 series flowmaster delta flow. also, is this a factory hydraulic roller motor? not a big small block person, but not dropping a 460 in the daily driver, gas is just too outrageous. plans are re ring and bearing, (if everything specs out ok) and redo heads, (ie new springs, locks, retainers, some guidework if nesecarry) then add headers, and recam. want something that will help with low end torque, as this is a 3.55 geared 5 speed truck running 32's that sees alot of interstate, as well as some weekend trails. thanks for all the help.

call comp cams for a recommendation, I have seen their extreme energy line compared against crane cams etc. and they did make a difference, on different simulated dyno graphs. 1-800-999-0853
Its my understanding that he HO motors were roller, and non of the truck 5.0's were HO, know thats not to say it isn't roller compatible, just means you have a flat tappet cam installed from the factory.
If it were lowend grunt I were after, then I would do the cam and 4.10 gears, just be sure of everything before you order the cam, as everything play a role in how the other reacts, being the cam is the mechanical brains, you want to get that last or at least pick which grind you plan to use after you have determined the rest of the drivetrain changes. Thats my opinion thought, Good luck with your project, later

some of the motors were roller and with 32 you have about 3.00 gears now. Call a manufactur and tell them of your plans and they will hook you up with a good choice for a cam.
