Hey No Gas! I am in SD also. Which dealer are you going too? I have not had any problems to date, but in the past I have had problems with certain dealers here in town and do not want to take my new truck, especailly a diesel to a shop that does not know how to work on them. Thanks Bob
As a follow-up, if anyone knows of a responsible diesel repair dealerships also in the Orange Count, as well as Los Angeles, may be helpful for those in other counties outside of San Diego.
I'm not sure if I can say the name of the Dealership, but it is in Kearny Mesa. So far, they are supportive of me starting a DSB process. The area Ford rep is supposed to be in Tuessay and I hope to hear from him. I dropped off a six page letter to the dealership. If the area Ford rep says he never got it, then somebody is lying or somebody threw it away. If that ends up being the case, then it's just one more dig at Ford. I have a neighbor who told me about a friend of his who had the oil pump on his truck take a dump. I noticed a lot of problems with the trucks is happening at 20,000 miles plus. As I said before, I have only 8000 on the truck. Thanks to the dealership putting on 189 of those miles for a "test" drive. I spoke with a service rep at a dealership in El Cajon, CA. He has never heard of a 189 mile test drive. As a matter of fact he started laughing. He sided with me and told me that if the dealership takes care of you, still file the paperwork with the DSB to get into the system and start the papertrail. HEY! It's raining in San Diego. WOW.

There is absoutely no reason not to mention the dealership's name when making comments about one with whom you're dealing. To not do so, is an example of a "chilling affect" so often found in one, when commenting about problems, or for that matter good service, from a dealership. Keep in mind, any company likes this "chilling affect" trait, because by feeling it necessary to withhold names, they benefit, by being kept in the dark (kept secret). No conduct should every be mentioned, while vailing the party (company/dealership) perceived as presenting less than reasonably fair and quality customer service. This goes both ways. Mention the names of those from whom you've received good service.
just a thought here.... when ever i turn paper work in, i have them sign a reciept with name title and time & date, it helps when ever i get questioned about "missing paper work" or when i'm told then never recieved it. then i produce the reciept and their tune seems to change.
Thanks for the info nogas. I bought mine in MV but as of yet no problems. I thought maybe the dealer in EC would have alot of diesel experience due to a large number of diesels in east county. I had a similar problem with a Ford dealer in PB they called me to pickup our Expedition after service work was done and it was not there. A service Tech took it home for a weekend test drive and did not come back until Monday. 200 miles more on the paperwork and no gas I was rather ****ed. I still wonder were he went on a "test drive too?" They filled up the tank and free oil change but I still will never go back to them for service. Dealers try to make you believe that you must return to the purchasing dealer for service work, this is bull ----! I take my vehicles to whoever does the best warranty work.
I like that -- another example of how to cover your self. Very good.

Maybe I should start a new post but here it goes anyway, does everyone that buys a new diesel get phone calls and letters almost every day from their Ford dealer? I orginally gave my cell phone number to the sales associate before I bought the truck and they call and ask if I like the truck? Letters asking if I like the truck? This is getting old, I wonder if I say no I'm having problems they will leave me alone? Just a thought?
Both letters from Ford & the dealer. I got another call today from a survey company conracted by my dealer asking again if I like the truck. Again, I told them they are using up all of my cell phone minutes on these surveys. I received 3 letters from Ford, I always thinks it is a recall and about 7 from the dealer. I will call the dealer tomorrow to complain. I know customer service is important but sometimes they go way overboard! Buy the way, I still love this truck!
I have not received any customer service letters with the exception of the first one asking how "you" were treated. I have not been bothered at all.
Here is an update on my Ford that went back to Kearny Mesa for repair. As you know the dealership put on 189 miles to "test drive" the truck when it was done. I asked the service manager why so many miles. He stated that they need to test drive it to make sure all of the pressure checks are completed. 200 miles? Give me a break. The Ford rep was supposed to be in Tuesday 23Feb to read the letter I dropped off. He/she has yet to show up. And Ford wonders why people go after them when something goes wrong with their vehicles. Right now the truck is running good, but I believe it has lost some power. I am still not confident driving around and I am waiting for it to break down again.
