WOOO-FREAKIN'-HOOOOO! My truck is here, my truck is here! Finally the wait is over! From Jan. 21st till March 5th, I've been going BANANAS waiting for it, and it's finally come! I'm not only going ape that it's finally here (did I mention that it's here ), but also it's only $27,535 before rebates! MSRP on this sucker is 33 grand..and I've also got $6000 to put down...and even a freakin' $1000 factory rebate!! I'm taking this Friday off so I can go pick it up (out of town dealership), and I can't freakin' wait!
Soon to be mine: '02 F-250 SuperCab XLT 4x4, V-10, Auto, 4.30LS, Dark Shadow Grey
Well now time to go to the tire store for a set of Goodyear MTR's
285/75/16 that will only set back $875.00 and your ready for the
mud. Good on HWY and excellent in the goo. My 99 runs like the
wind and of course who cares about mileage with these bigboys.
F250 4X4 ext cab, longbed, V10, 430 ls, power everything, amfm cassett
cd. Hvy duty suspension, K&N Filter charger, and soon to add the Helix
power tower.
By the way you need to go get the K&N right away and throw away that
Ford unit. There is a diference as cleaner air going down the throat
and also gives a little more throttle response at standing start.
Keep your pants on your getting to excited!
When you go to the dealer ya don't want to be so excited that you overlook something thats wrong with it.
God help us that there isn't !
I'm keepin ya on even keel here!
Was it your truck that was stolen awhile back ?
Congrats on the Truck!

My F350 just arrived today. I prefer to special order trucks so they are exactly they way I want them. There is generally no cost difference at a "good" dealership. In all fairness, my dad is a manager at a dealership in Norfolk, so I get the straight poop. You should always make sure you have the option of not taking delivery if anything is wrong with the truck. Sometimes it can take a while to get your truck, but I ordered this truck less than 4 weeks ago.
Both depend on your negotiating skills and when you go.
Either way it's a sale for the dealer but dealing off the lot has it's ups.
But then again, the dealer hasn't used any of his holdback to offset the finance chages he's hit with for trucks on his lot when you special order so he MAY be more apt to deal knowing that there is at least some added profit.
i would have special ordered my truck, but i didnt have time. and the only 2 things that it has that i would change is the carpet delete(not a big deal) and i would have ordered the v10, but the 5.4 is plenty enough fer me.
Yep, it was me who had my truck stolen, stuck, and burnt to a crispy critter. It's so good to know that I'll be driving a SD again! My insurance company kept shuffling me from rental to rental while my truck was being built, I'm sick of driving freaking Intrepids and Stratuses...at least they got me out of the mongoloid Dodge p/u they had me in. In my case, everything sort of worked out perfectly...I'm getting a new truck, I was put under Ford's A-Plan through my uncle, and the check that my insurance company cut me after my old truck was destroyed covers all but $1100 of the total cost of my new truck. Funny how things work out after they go SO freakin' bad. Oh and don't worry RedRanger, I just printed out that nice long checklist from ford-diesel.com, I'm checking the truck from head to toe...or bumper to bumper, which ever you prefer. While I was on the horn with the sales-dork (I'd substitute the 'or' in dork for 'ic', but I've gotta keep it clean), I was suprised how little I was getting on my trade in, only $3000, for a '98 Isuzu Hombre with 61k. On my old truck, I traded in my personal Hombre ('98 as well) that had 40k on it and got $5700. This Hombre that I'm currently trading in was used as a work truck by my Grandfather, same specs as my personal one, has 21k more miles on it, and drops in value by $2700? Hmm...kinda fishy? By the way, you boys mind running the VIN for me? I spent 30 minutes on the phone going over the options list with the sales-dork this morning, and I called him back to get the VIN 10 minutes later, but there was a main telephone cable break about 50 miles north of here, and he's about 250 miles north of that. So I finally got the VIN through his secrectary later in the day, who had a hard time reading it off the invoice sheet, and I'd just like to have some hard proof that she's the way I built her: 1FTNX21S12EC34716
It was considerably cheaper in my case to order than to buy off the lot. In addition, I didn't have to pay $750 for a Ford CD player, and was able to get some of the goodies that most trucks on the lot don't have like the roof clearance lights and the power heated seats in an XLT and the V10.
It SUCKED waiting for 5 weeks, especially since I'm a very impatient person, but it was worth it to get exactly what I wanted and save almost $2500!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Mar-02 AT 02:12 AM (EST)]Ack! Sorry! Yeah I did get it! It came just as ordered, which is a HUGE weight off my shoulders. Not to be a spammer, but I highly recommend Bluebonnet Ford in New Braunfuls, TX if anyone is going to be buying a new vehicle in Central Texas. Best car buying experience I've EVER had. It's great to be sitting high and watching everyone stare at my SD when I drive by. I even got a chance to take it out to the beach to "test" 4x4. Damn, this sucker wheels in the sand better than my old SD! I was even pointing it at places where I thought I'd bog down, but it just kept on roaring through. The SD Gods are smiling on me.
