My 94 ranger has a bad case of frame corrosion. It has gotten to the point of the leaf spring mounts have broken off the frame. This is being repaired now. I would appreciate any and all suggestions on how to raise the cab without removing it (if this is even possible) so I could access the frame in that area. Tips on techniques, materials or whatever are all welcome. Thanks
I'm just guessing that you have more time than money. Unless you are prepared to take the cab right off the frame, you'll only get a couple of inches of lift before getting into major disconnecting. Hopefully you'll manage.
Before you lift the cab at all, check all the harnesses, cables, shifter, steering column etc, etc.
I only call it a peice of crap because I'm in a bind. I bought it from my brother-in-law for 3500 bucks. he was moving out of state and couldn't take it with. It's my first 4wd vehicle and was looking forward to getting around in the snow in NH. Took it in for it's first state insp. and found the rear leaf spring brackets broke. Not his fault, you really couldn't tell by ride. I got those replaced and then about 3 months later a front mount snapped off. Guess I should have had all 4 done at the same time... my fault. I would like to try and save the truck but I have to do a complete rust assessment on it. The body is in pretty good shape. Thanks for the replies and please send some tips if you can.
