I have a 94 that we plan to use as a towed vehicle behind the new to us motor home. Anyhow the guy gave me the tow bar said I would need to get the frame brackets. I contacted the company and they must make them from unobtaineum with the prices quoted! $3-450 for 2 frame mounts.
My question is, does anyone have a roadmaster hitch assembly who could either send me some pictures of the mounts (a piece of steel to attach to frame with a tube mount for the hook up). Or if someone could send me the dimensions of the frame mount and where it hooks up so I can take to have locally manufactured.
If nothing else if someone has a set of used brackets they want to get rid of?????
When I first read the title of this thread and before opening it, I was very confused and actually had visions of a person parking in the desert somewhere, leaving the doors open and a big, ugly, wart covered toad (spelled just like the title reads) crawling into the vehicle and being later discovered. That, or a major performance problem making it slower than the second coming of Christ on the road. I never would have guessed it had anything to do with a missing part for a tow bar. Just sayin' is all.
Try opening this diagram from their site that shows each part. I can see why they charge so much, but you could get these made in a fab shop for a lot less.
yes I have these diagrams, but would like to know the dimensions so I can get locally fabricated. IE. how long is the frame mount? The tubes will be easy, but I really dont know how far down they are mounted!
