Ford Cam Synchronizer Set

I purchased the Ford Cam Synchronizer Set Three piece synchronizer alignment tool for Ford vehicles.
I have an 1998 F150 V6 4.2.
This CMP Synchro Positioning Tool Kit comes with three synchronizer alignment tools for 1993-2001 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles using a synchronizer and camshaft position sensor.
Two of the alignment tools will work, one has a right-hand half moon and the other has a left-hand half moon.
Which tool do I use? The kit did not have directions.
