i have a 1955 f-100. I am replacing the synchronizer and everything I have found says it takes the 8m-7124 synchronizer assembly. When I go to put it back on the synchronizer hub splines do not fit on the output shaft. I matched the old and the new synchronizer hub and you can see that the splines on the new one do not line up with the splines on the old hub. Has anyone else ever ran in to this problem. I am not sure if it is possibly a manufacturing defect or some other problem.
yes to my knowledge it is all original. is there a place to look up casting numbers on these trannys I found a couple on the case. I looked up that number and it says 56-60 with a T85 transmission. I don't know if that is what I have or not and on the same site it says there is a B5-7124-B for a 55-60 with a T86 transmission. both of these numbers were found on vanpeltsales.com
