4x4 in low gear - Found problem
Hi, some days ago I was asking what could be the problem when my 4x4 would not disengage from 4x4 low gear. It was staying in low for a while then after giggleling the stick it would go back on high 2x4.
Well we found the problem, the input lever was loose in the transfer case. I had to buy a rebuilt half casing, hole rebored and sleeved. Apparently this is a common problem on those transfer case, the shop have a few in stock just for that. I have a 1356 tansfer case.
Just so you guys be aware... Cost was about 150 US dollars and about 5 hours job. Remove, take apart, rebuilt, re-installed.
