Unhappy 86 Bronco Identify This Part!!

Ok on my 302 directly above the distributor cap there is a silver cylinder with a hot wire running into it.. nothing else just one wire. What is it?? the wire broke off inside and i can't reconnect it, and the truck has been running like ****, since i put the new cap and rotor on .. any tips??? Anyone else ever had **** problem. I think that cylinder is a coil condensor, is that on the 302 and is it a silver cylinder??

Someone help please!

Air bypass valve if it is mounted to the throttle body. It allows air to bypass the closed throttle at idle from what I understand. By all means replace or repare it or it will run like crap.

Looks like 87BB already answered your question but he's right, it will run like crap and it's not a particularly expensive part even from the dealership. Just replace and save yourself the time messing with it.

I went 1" body and 6" susp. just to mix things up a bit. Truth be told I don't put much stock in lifts. Unless you're a competitive off-road junkie you don't need it but so rarely that it hardly seems worth the risk to roll or limits on parking and extra scratches on the roof.. just my opinion.

I like lifts on broncs, but do it right, and use poly cap guards or it will look like poopoo

DallasDaz, where did you get a 1" lift? I just want to add a mild lift to my 84, so I was thinking of going 1" body and replacing the crappy, badly installed 2-1/2" Rancho that came on the truck with a 2-1/2 to 3" suspension lift.
