Exactly! Seriously, I pretty much think your best bet is to find some nice wheeling grounds close to home....then beat your truck as hard as you can untill something breaks. Repeat as often untill nothing breaks anymore. Then feel confident wheeling anywhere anytime. How do you think my truck got so overbuilt?
no way man....my 72 EB is badarse! that thing will go anywhere! In fact I broke a stub shaft/u-joint pulling against an f-150. I had bald tires, no brakes, 2 gears(2nd is messed up), and no floorboards! Ask Ho...he was there
I want to get in more trail time, but being a senior(in highschool, not an old guy), and having work, whenever want to go my friends are busy. I dont want to go by myself and have no way to get out. Some of my friends said to go as far as you can i 4x2, then engage 4x4 and get out. But i do need momentum. And getting stuck in the middle of a hole makes it pretty hard to get out.

I most definitely concur. That strategy is working extremely well w/ my '79! Kinda hurts the wallet after awhile, but what the hell! You can't take it with ya when you go...

there is a reason why not to go till your stuck in 2wd..
I was stuck here in 2wd, then locked them in, and didn't budge, and had to be yanked out..
after that, a F-150 on bald 31's and a chevy on 33's went right though.. Allthough after that.. they both had to pulled out going back through it.. My truck made a it though a few times after that though
