body style breakdowns - year by year

I know my Fords pretty well, except for vans, and I even owned a 1980 E-150 300/C-6 before.

I think the breakdown goes

1980-?
1979-1977?

Reason for asking is I want an older E series van, maybe 1979 or older to avoid emission laws in Atlanta GA. But, I am having trouble finding 77-78 vans around here with side barn doors. I have driven many vans with sliding doors and they end up being a hassle. Even in my 1995 Aerostar. My 1980 I never had problems with the side barn doors.

Any place to look up different years by pictures?

What are you looking for exactly? 75-91 are the same body, with 68-74 and 92-up as the other styles.

For the information you just posted :-) Thanks!

I do not like the later 60s/early 70s style because it does not have much of a nose.

So, now I can narrow my search to 75-78 so I do not have to pass emissions testing. I found one on EBAY (78) but, it looks pretty dogged and I am not sure it would make the 500 mile trip back home. I have AAA+, but, it only covers 100 miles

I am looking for an older style with barn doors, side and back, that I can turn into a seven pass. van and eventually 4x4.

I've got one

I've got one....1985, brand new carb factory Holley feedback carb, passed emissions, dual cats. seven passenger already. 20k on motor, 140k on vehicle. It'll make it home.

I have been looking for a 75-78 van with barn doors on the side, like I use to have on my 1981. All I can find so far are sliders. Were barn doors on the side an option for those years?
